Your unfair advantage

By the time a tender is published, someone has been talking to the buyer for months

Portals show you a tender on the day it goes live. Tenfell shows you the months before it – so that someone is you.

  1. 12–24 months before

    The current contract is ending

It lands in your expiring contracts with the buyer, the value and the incumbent. Now you know who to call.

    You see it here

  2. 6–12 months before

The buyer signs off the plan

A cabinet report, trust board paper or commissioner’s decision approves the budget and the route to market. We flag the page it says so on.

    You see it here

  3. 3–6 months before

The buyer sounds out the market

A pre-tender notice asks suppliers for input. You help shape the spec instead of reading it later.

    You see it here

  4. Day one

    The tender is published

Where everyone else starts. You've met the buyer, sized up the incumbent and half-written the bid.

    Your competitors find out here

  • Know who you are up against

The incumbent, what they won, when and for how much – and every contract your competitors pick up.

  • Know when the incumbent is slipping

KPIs rated below target, contracts terminated for breach, contractors on improvement plans – the opening to win the work before it’s re-let.

  • Know who makes the call

The directors, heads of service and cabinet members behind each buyer, with their published work contacts.

  • Know where the money goes

What each buyer spends, with whom and through which frameworks – so you chase budgets, not hunches.

Product

Everything you need to go from noise to pipeline

Thousands of public sector notices are published every week. Tenfell filters them down to the handful worth your time – and helps your team act on them.

  • Unified notice feed

Pre-tender engagement, live tenders and contract awards from every official UK & Ireland portal in one searchable feed, with filters for stage, value, region, buyer type and CPV code.

  • Signals & signal score

Tell us the keywords, CPV codes and competitor or partner suppliers you care about. Every notice gets a score from 0 to 3 bars – red, orange, green – showing how many of your signals it matches, so the best fits rise to the top.

  • AI relevance checks

Write your criteria in plain English and the AI classifier makes a semantic, if-style yes/no decision on each notice, with a confidence that feeds its signal score.

  • Expiring contracts

See which incumbent contracts end in the next 12–24 months, so you can build relationships with the buyer and shape the requirement long before it is re-tendered.

  • Incumbents at risk

Suppliers buyers have reported performing badly: KPIs rated below target, contracts terminated or suppliers removed in Procurement Act notices, and contractors council and NHS board papers say are underperforming, on improvement plans or in breach – with the words and the page to prove it. Filter any feed to contracts with a failing incumbent.

Data coverage

Data from every official UK & Ireland portal

We collect notices directly from the government portals where buyers are required to publish them – England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland – so nothing slips through the gaps.

Duplicates merged automatically

The same procurement often appears on several portals – on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder, for example. We link those notices together so you see one opportunity with its full history, not three near-identical rows.

Open data, openly licensed

Everything comes from official open data feeds. UK notices are reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and every notice links back to its original publication.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Straight from the official portals where public bodies publish their notices – Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales, eTenders Ireland and TED – plus councils’ own contract registers, Northern Ireland’s contract awards and the historic archives behind them. Most of it is official open data under the Open Government Licence, and every notice links back to where it was published.

You can – they’re where our data comes from. But there are a dozen of them, each with its own search and alerts, the same tender often appears on two or three, and none of them tell you which contracts are about to end, who the incumbent is or which buyers spend most on what you sell. Tenfell puts them in one feed, removes the duplicates, scores every notice against your signals and adds the buyer and competitor history around it.

Find a Tender and Contracts Finder are checked every 30 minutes. The other portals are refreshed several times a day. Each run only fetches what has changed, and new notices are scored against your signals as soon as they arrive.

Signals are the keywords, CPV codes and competitor or partner suppliers that describe your market. The signal score is the number of your signals a notice matches, shown as 0–3 bars: red for one match, orange for two and green for three or more. Sort by it and the best-fitting opportunities rise to the top of your feed.

Only what it needs. AI checks are optional, and the AI classifier is sent just the public notice it’s checking and your description or criterion – never your leads, comments or contacts.

Very likely. We add sources regularly – council contract registers and Northern Ireland’s contract awards were recent additions – and each one plugs in with its own schedule. Tell us which regional or framework portal matters to you.

Councils, NHS trusts and police and crime commissioners decide what to buy in public meetings and published decisions. We read the reports, minutes, board papers, budgets and decision records they publish and flag the passages that matter to sellers – a procurement strategy approved, a contract coming to an end, a budget set aside, a preferred bidder chosen – and match them against your signals. It's the earliest warning you'll get of a tender.

From what buyers publish. Under the Procurement Act, buyers rate the KPIs of large contracts and say when a contract is terminated, and why, or a supplier is removed from it: we read every one of those notices. And we read council and NHS board papers for contractors they say are underperforming, on an improvement plan, in breach or being replaced – keeping the exact words and the page they’re on, so you can check before you call. Each one is linked to the contract, its end date and its value.

Only from what public bodies publish about their own staff: officers named on committee reports, councillors holding key posts and boards listed on GOV.UK. Every contact links to where it was published, personal numbers are never kept, and anyone can ask to be removed.

Yes. We collect Irish opportunities from eTenders, the national tendering platform, and above-threshold notices from TED, the EU's Official Journal supplement. Values are shown in euro where the buyer published them that way.

Get there before the tender does

Your competitors are still trawling portals. Set up your signals in five minutes and tomorrow you’ll know which contracts are coming up, who holds them and who decides – while there’s still time to shape them.
