Subject to approval, the Department may wish to reprocure for similar services to the current National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) contract and the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) contract. A link to the current contracts can be found in the Contract Award Notices; https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/020349-2022 https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/020393-2022
Additional information: In the event of a procurement, the Department would seek lead providers or consortia or similar entities to deliver the programmes, which may include:
The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) which leads the pre-16 maths programme. The NCETM manage and coordinate the work of the Department's Maths Hubs to support improvements in pre-16 mathematics education with Teaching for Mastery (TfM) at its core, to raise the standard of mathematics education from reception through to A-level, and harnesses mathematics leadership and expertise to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all students.
Continuing the work of the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP), which delivers support for AS/A level maths, further maths and core maths qualifications, by delivering a wide range of support, expertise and resources to improve and increase the provision and participation of level 3 mathematics qualifications, and supporting students to choose mathematics study in Further Education.
The Department will be undertaking market engagement activities in early 2024. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our policy ambition and seek input and expertise from the sector to inform our delivery plans. We are keen to speak to as many organisations as possible and will, therefore, be limiting attendance at any event(s) to two representatives per organisation. Following any event(s), the Department may extend an opportunity for a one-to-one conversation with interested organisations.
For information: Participation in market engagement activities or events is not a pre-requisite for being able to submit a tender against any resulting opportunity(ies). If you are unable to attend any events we choose to arrange, the slides and Q&A outcomes from them will be made publicly available.
In the event of a procurement, this will fall under the Light Touch Regime as defined by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (Regulation 74 - 77). The Department would manage a procurement based upon the 'Open' tendering procedure as defined by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (Regulation 27).
