Description

Peterborough City Council would like to commission a service to lead and coordinate the Schools-based Obesity Intervention and Prevention Fund (SOIPF) open to all 61 primary schools in Peterborough only with the potential to reach over 20,000 pupils.

The Peterborough Schools-based Obesity Prevention and Intervention Fund (SOIPF) project will provide additional capacity to promote a whole-school approach to: • promoting and improving healthy eating habits of children, • increasing physical activity levels and the education of the benefits of moving more, • informing and recognising the prevalence of excess weight in our communities, • the impact on individuals having excess weight and obesity, • encourage constructive, sensitive and positive conversations about body image and excess weight, and • the implementation of a range of school-led, school-based interventions to address the issue of childhood excess weight.

The Authority will be running a below-threshold Procurement using a process similar to the Open Procedure described in regulation 27 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
