Description
It is statutory duty of Local Authorities to provide secure transport to children whilst under authorities’ protection. Currently the London borough of Barnet Family Services directorate use 2 companies, as one provides local transport, whilst the other is in North England. Though the need of this requirement is not high, the quality must meet a certain standard as this transport is used for children that are at high risk including remand. The service availability must be 24/7. Drivers and escorts need to be trained in the field with risk assessment.
