Description

Wakefield Council is seeking to appoint an experienced Community Engagement Consultant to take the lead and be responsible for coordinating all of the activities which will form part of the ‘Heart of Wakefield’ project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The principal objective of the project will be to uncover the rich historical and heritage landscape of Wood Street and document the role this area has played in the development and governance of what is now a small city. Many of the buildings have had inter-related civic uses and it will be intriguing to discover how this ebbed and flowed over the decades. The project will record and document how Wood Street was once the Heart of Wakefield but in recent times this has changed.
