Description
Primary Eye Care Services (PES) provide a Post Operative Cataract Service for which the contract expires on 31st March 2027 and has a value of £86,258. The contract is cost and volume activity based. An Essex wide Strategic Eyecare Review is underway, due to complete in March 2027, following which detailed commissioning intentions will be confirmed. As such, it is recommended that the existing commissioning arrangements are extended by awarding new contracts under DAP C for 12 months, with a 6 month notice period. The contract is indicative and based on the 26/27 activity and for the purposes of clarity the value will be subject to the national inflator/deflator calculations. The relevant authority determined that Direct Award Process C applies because PES is the existing provider, the existing contract is due to end, the proposed contracting arrangements are not changing considerably, and the provider is satisfying the existing contract and is likely to satisfy the proposed contract to a sufficient standard.
