Description

The project will be split into two parts: Phase 1 and Phase 2. This tender is for Phase 1 only but Phase 2 is outlined for overall context only.

Phase 1 Objectives; • Review current LCA methodologies within industries to identify methodologies, approaches and tools suited to the offshore renewable industry; • Develop a standard taxonomy based around main project life cycle phases (e.g., raw material extraction, manufacture, distribution and transport, operations and maintenance, disposal, and recycling) and the key components / technologies/ phases of an offshore wind project; • Develop a tailored LCA methodology, including guidance for application, to offshore wind projects in the UK;

Phase 2 Objectives • Assess several applicable UK offshore wind case studies using methodology from Phase 1; • Develop modelled tool capable of assessing full lifecycle emissions. • Assessment of case study results and CO2 reduction opportunities, using modelled tool for industry use.
