Description

This notice is a Prior Information Notice only and is published to alert potential providers of a forth coming procurement exercise. Any participating CCGs, structure and/or timescales contained within this notice are for guidance only and should not be taken as confirmed.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year (366 days in each leap year) to respond to people’s healthcare needs when: •It is not a life-threatening situation, and therefore is less urgent than a 999 call; •The patients registered GP is not an option, for example when the Caller is away from home, the service can assess and direct to the nearest practice; •The Caller feels they cannot wait and is simply unsure of which service they require; •The Caller requires health information or reassurance about what to do next.

The NHS 111 Telephony service forms an integral part of the East Midlands vision for urgent and emergency care services. It plays a pivotal role in guiding members of the public to ensure they access the right care; at the right time; in the right place.

The East Midlands Commissioners expect, as a minimum, service providers to be capable of delivering the 111 elements of the Commissioning Standards Integrated Urgent Care published by NHS England in October 2015.

It is anticipated that the staff delivering the service will be an appropriate blend of trained advisors and clinicians, utilising a predefined triaging system alongside locally defined services to assess callers needs and most appropriate course of action.

Providers who are interested in tendering for this service have the opportunity to attend a bidder event on Tuesday 8th December 2015 (timings to be confirmed).

To express an interest in attending the bidder event on the 8th of December 2015 please follow the Bravo registration instructions in the additional information section of this advert.
