Description
Supported by the Coventry & Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Coventry University will be opening the National Transport Design Centre (NTDC) at its Technology Park in spring 2017. The centre will focus on design research, post-graduate education and industry engagement, both with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the transport sector (automotive, rail, marine and aerospace), suppliers in those sectors and potential new entrants. The facility will be equipped with industrial standard, state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure that NTDC can offer high quality design solutions, both physical and virtual, based on the outcomes of Coventry Universityâs design research. We require a supplier to supply and installation of a Milling Machine. The Milling Machine will be used to support our research activities and is not intended to be used within the context of daily commercial usage. We require a Milling Machine that can facilitate the demands of an ever evolving R&D sector.
We have a budget of between £500,000 and £833,000 (excluding VAT). For this budget we require the supply, installation, training and an on-going warranty: to include a 1 year warranty, plus the option to extend annually for a further 2 years. We would also like the option to extend the warranty on an annual basis, for additional years. If additional funding becomes available, we may also wish to enhance the Milling Machine further.
This contract has not been divided into lots due to the technical nature meaning we will require the same supplier who supplies the Milling Machine, to also install and maintain this new facility.
Additional information: Tender returns are to be received by 12.00 noon â 15 Friday January 2016. These must be returned by uploading to the e-tendering website https://in-tendhost.co.uk/coventryuniversity/.
