Transforming Care is a national programme overseen by six national partners: NHS England, the Association of Adult Social Services (ADASS), the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Local Government Association (LGA), Health Education England (HEE) and the Department of Health (DH) that aims to ensure children, young people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges, including those with a mental health condition are able to establish the support they need in the community. In February 2015, NHS England publicly committed to a programme of closing inappropriate inpatient facilities.
