Description

NHS England is planning to go to the market for Privacy Enhancing Technology (PET). PET will apply privacy to data via various mechanisms, supporting the use of data by individuals and NHS Bodies who have a legitimate need to process data.

The PET platform will be a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that will be centrally located on cloud, with components or local version deployments supported to integrate with on-premise data sources.

The PET must perform three key functions (which will be further detailed in subsequent tender documentation): • Discovery - automated identification and classification of PII and sensitive data • Protection - making sensitive data available to legitimate consumers in a secure format • Audit and Management - auditing and monitoring the use of sensitive data across NHS England
