Description
The University of Manchester wishes to appoint a company to deliver Project Management Services for the Manchester Museum â The Courtyard Project
The Courtyard project seeks to transform Manchester Museumâs reach to increased and diversified audiences, and make a pivotal contribution to Manchester city-region's economic, social and cultural renaissance at the heart of the emerging Northern Powerhouse. Combining exceptional architectural new build and extensive reconfiguration of existing spaces, the development will:
⢠Create the North of Englandâs leading venue for temporary exhibitions on human cultures and the natural world; one which is free of charge for all. ⢠Develop the regionâs only large-scale gallery of South Asian history and culture; the largest British Museum Partnership Gallery in the UK. ⢠Attract and welcome visitors with a new, street-facing entrance and greatly improved facilities. ⢠Deliver a step-change in public engagement, volunteering, learning programmes and civic participation, driven by a new ethos of Manchester Museum as a âmuseum for lifeâ.
The project is to be funded via three streams:
â¢The Treasury (Department for Culture, Media & Sport) - £5million secured from Treasury towards the South Asian Gallery â¢Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) - £4.6million to be secured, a Stage 1 HLF application has been made. â¢Manchester Museum / fundraising â the remainder from Museum endowments, internal contributions and fundraising activities All procurement documents are included at this stage, any documentation relating to the ITT stage are provided for information only. Please download the documentation from In-Tend.
