The Schools Library Service (SLS) provides teachers with multiple book sets and artefacts that enable the teaching of the national curriculum in the classroom. It delivers 2,250 boxes to subscribing schools every year, the equivalent to 67,500 individual books.

Aims of the service: • To support schools, teachers and education teams in delivering the National Curriculum, through resources and advice • To provide quality, relevant, current books and other materials • To offer advice and practical support for staff working in school libraries • To support literacy and the enjoyment of reading for the 3-18 age group • To provide training on library related issues to school staff

57 Primary schools, 8 Secondary Schools and 2 special schools subscribe to the service under Service Level Agreement. The SLA entitles primary schools to a discount off RRP on books purchased for their library via SLS.
