Description
This Invitation To Quote (ITQ) is for procurement (the Procurement) of a service to provide a Community Approach to Promoting Early Awareness of Cancer (CAPEAC or the Service) by NHS Hastings and Rother CCG (the Commissioner).
Service
The Service is outlined below and more fully described in the draft specification included in the tender documents.
The Service will aim to address health inequalities in the 20% most deprived areas of Hastings and Rother
The objectives of the Service are:
- to raise public awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancers as specified by the CCG
- to improve uptake of the national screening programmes for breast, bowel and cervical cancer
- to promote earlier attendance at GP practices with possible cancer symptoms
- to increase the proportion of cancers (as specified by the CCG) diagnosed at an earlier stage
- to reduce the proportion of cancers diagnosed as emergency presentations
The provider will design, implement and evaluate a community approach tailored to the needs of the identified communities. The provider will offer innovative solutions to promoting awareness and early presentation of cancer. Delivery will be through partnership working with community volunteers, primary care staff and other specialist cancer service providers in both the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Further details are in the service specification on Contracts Finder.
