Description
CCCU had an ageing mixed estate of legacy telecommunications systems across its campuses at Canterbury, Broadstairs, Medway and Tunbridge Wells. The Telephony and Unified Communication project comprises two distinct phases. Phase 1 (which is outside the scope of this tender) addresses a number of the current risks and will deliver a stable telephony platform by May 2016. Phase 2 seeks to deliver the business transformational aspects of Telephony and Unified Communication built around the main pillars of Presence, Telephony, Messaging, Conferencing and Collaboration
The project scope is to design, build and implement a solution which meets the identified business requirements:
o A core unified communications server o Voicemail o Web collaboration, o CTI Integration o Presence o Outlook integrated user directory o Improved contact & mobility solutions o UC Application for smart phones o Video conferencing o Audio conferencing o Call recording o Call monitoring o Nuisance call blocking o Instant messaging o Improved switchboard functionality o Wallboards
These requirements could be delivered either by further advancement of the existing Asterisk 13 platform with some additional coding and integration by third-party companies or by complete replacement of the Asterisk 13 platform with a commercially supported CAPEX and OPEX modelled solution, but utilising the SIP trunks, DDI numbering and in-cloud IVR solution which has been deployed during Phase 1 of the project.
