Description
Following a public procurement process, The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) has appointed Teach First as national provider to deliver an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Leadership Development Programme (LDP) for high potential graduates. This aims to raise levels of pupil attainment in England's challenging schools by helping supply them with excellent teachers.
Teach First, registered charity No 1098294, now seeks to secure an ITT Provider for each of its Local Areas to provide Initial Teacher Training and associated services as part of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme (LDP).
The Teach First Local Areas are :
London (Single participant cohort allocated across four sub-areas: one provider will be appointed for all of London) South East & South Coast (Single participant cohort allocated with one provider) South West East Midlands West Midlands East of England North East North West Yorkshire and Humber
Together the Local Areas cover all of England and participants can be allocated in eligible schools anywhere within the Local Area.
NOTE: Teach First also leads a programme in Wales âTeach First Cymruâ, with support from the Welsh Government. This Invitation to Bid (ITB) does not include this programme and is for England only.
Each year, Teach First recruits a cohort of participants for a Summer Institute and readiness to start teaching in school. ITT and the LDP lasts until the end of the second year for that cohort. The agreement will be for 2 cohorts:
- Preparation during 2016/17: There will be a preparation phase from July 2016 in advance of delivery as Teach First develops and introduces its new programme model. - Year 1 cohort: The services start with Sumer Institute in June 2017. Delivery continues for the academic years 2017/18 and 2018/19. - Year 2 cohort: The services start with Sumer Institute in June/July 2018. Delivery continues for the academic years 2018/19 and 2019/20.
Teach First now invites suitable parties to bid to provide ITT to Teach First participants from 2017 as part of our Leadership Development Programme (LDP).
Interested parties should complete the attached pre-qualification questionnaire and submit it to Teach First [email protected]. Providers who meet these criteria will be provided with the Invitation to Bid (ITB) and associated documentation.
Teach First intends to hold a Provider Information Session by conference call for bidders on Friday 27 May.
The closing date for submission of bids is 13.00 on 20 June. It is intended to complete the procurement exercise by 27 June including signature of sub-contracts.
