Description
The eight Royal Parks, including Hyde Park, The Regentâs Park and Greenwich Park, are owned by the Sovereign and managed by The Royal Parks (TRP), an Executive Agency of the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS). More information on TRP can be found on our web site.
There are three tennis centres in the Royal Parks, and the contract is split into three corresponding lots:
Lot 1 Hyde Park Tennis Centre Lot 2 Greenwich Park Tennis Centre Lot 3 The Regent's Park Tennis Centre
Tenderers have the option of bidding for as many or as few lots as they wish. There is no limit placed on the number of lots that could be awarded to a single tenderer.
The Contract durations are - Lots 2 & 3 (Greenwich & Regent's) 8 years with the option to extend for up to 2 years and Lot 1 (Hyde Park) 4 years with the option to extend for up to 4 years.
The contract comprises four fundamental requirements, namely to:
(i) develop the tennis centres into lively, active meeting places that meet the diverse needs of both club members and the wider community; (ii) provide high standards of sports provision (Tennismark+ within 12 months); (iii) invest capital to develop the sports centres with the aim of maximising the use of and revenue generated from the facilities and their surroundings; and (iv) provide consistently high standards of catering at both Hyde and The Regentâs Parks including a defined menu style offering customers value for money. TRPâs aim is to provide customers with a simple but contemporary menu, made from high quality ingredients.
The Concessionaire is required to develop an active and accessible coaching and activity programme and agree this annually with The Royal Parks (TRP).
Throughout the contract term, the Concessionaire will need to evidence success in attracting young people of all abilities from the local community, particularly those living in the Sport England Priority Urban Area wards and those attending local state schools. The Concessionaire shall develop tennis and other sports programmes.
The Concessionaire shall offer:
â¢Low-cost coaching activities â¢Regular programme and court time available to children and families as well as adults â¢Exclusive areas for children to play under supervision, perhaps with the addition of dedicated courts (not possible at Greenwich Park) â¢School links and provision during holiday times â¢A safe environment managed by qualified coordinators and coaches â¢Friendly coaches with a passion for the game â¢Catering, where applicable, for the needs of the local community
Additional information: Please note that the contract end date provided applies only to Lots 2 & 3 (8 year contract duration + optional extension period of up to 2 years). Lot 1 (Hyde Park) contract duration is 4 years plus an optional extension period of up to 4 years. The lowest / actual value of the contract is based on mean annual turnover (lowest = Greenwich only and highest = all lots)multiplied by the contract duration (excluding optional extension periods).
