Description

Orthotic and Prosthetic Services The Isle of Man Government invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide Orthotic and Prosthetic Services including the assessment of Orthotic and Prosthetic needs and provision of the necessary equipment for the Department of Health & Social Care. The successful service provider will be required to provide a visiting service for a weekly Orthotic Clinic and a three day Prosthetic Clinic every three weeks. The Isle of Man Government Department of Health and Social Care, Orthotic and Prosthetic Service is a service which facilitates the treatment and rehabilitation of our patients through the assessment of need and the provision of an appropriate orthosis, which will either remedy or relieve a medical condition or disability, and may prevent the development of more disabling conditions, or prosthesis if required. The service will offer a continuing programme of maintenance, repair and reassessment of need, once the initial orthosis or prosthesis has been supplied. The Department wishes to see continuous improvement in the quality and range of the orthosis and prostheses offered to users, with faster, reliable delivery times. It wishes to promote improved communication with users, carers and primary healthcare providers about orthotics and prosthetics and improve outcomes. The Prosthetic Service requires the successful service provider to identify and have approved a Prosthetist who has a full range of skills and specific experience in the provision of Lower Limb, Upper Limb and Paediatric prosthetics. The Prosthetic Service will be delivered by the successful service provider over a three day period every three weeks, which will include the provision of onsite and offsite Technical Support. The Orthotic Service clinic is held for three days per week every three weeks.
