Description
The current contract for the Ealing Carers Support Service ends on 31st March 2022. Ealing carried out market engagement and gathered feedback from the market during June/July 2021. Ealing has tendered for a three-year contract with the possibility of a 2 year extension. The annual value of the Carers Support Service is approximately up to £100,000 per annum. Ealing tendered for a new Carers Support Service over Summer 2021 which has now been awarded to Your Voice in Health and Social Care. The service will commence on 1st April 2022.
Ealing has an estimated 35,000 adult carers providing unpaid, informal care. The Census 2011 indicated that 8.5% of Ealing residents provide unpaid care to a friend, relative or neighbour. Based on national research it is estimated that there may be more than 4,000 young carers aged under 18 in Ealing. Ealing has therefore sought a suitably qualified provider who has experience of delivering vital support services to carers of all ages and carers across all health and social care needs.
