Any appointment is therefore subject to a break clause after 31st March 2022.

Submissions will be evaluated according to a 70% quality/ 30% cost criteria. Quality will be assessed on the basis of experience in listed buildings (30%), grant-supported schemes (20%), and ability to resource within the given timescale (20%).

It is anticipated that the works will be divided into two phases - Phase 1 (Market Hall reinstatement and associated works) and Phase 2 (extension to rear and works to the first floor upwards). The present commission is in respect of Phase 1 only.

The value of the Phase 1 capital works is estimated at c£750,000.
