NHS Southport & Formby CCG - Community Cardiology Service

NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) are working on behalf of NHS Southport & Formby CCG who have awarded a Community Cardiology Service for patients living in the CCG area.

The service offers a central co-ordinating function for all non-urgent CVD referrals. The service delivers community based clinical sessions & diagnostics, providing triage, assessment and face to face consultations with a Community Consultant Cardiologist.

Additional information: Midlands and Lancashire CSU is publishing this Contract Award Notice to confirm NHS Southport & Formby CCG's intention to award a contract for the Community Cardiology Service to Southport & Formby Health Ltd.

This contract is being directly awarded by Southport and Formby CCG only in order to deliver business continuity whilst work continues system-wide to develop a cardiology pathway for the local population. A collaborative of multiple Providers and CCGs was established in late 2018 with the aim to take a system wide approach to designing cardiology provision for residents in the CCG areas of Southport and Formby, and, also West Lancashire. The members are represented across the system to include all providers commissioned for cardiology services. The primary focus of the collaborative group is to ensure patients requiring cardiology services will receive it in the most appropriate manner and setting. The work of the group focuses on improving clinical outcomes and quality of experience for patients and reducing health inequalities.

This Contract Award Notice is published under the Public Contract Regulations 2015. It is for clinical services which are Light Touch Regime services for the purpose of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as specified in Schedule 3 of the Regulations ('Regulations'). Accordingly, the contracting authority is only bound by those parts of the Regulations detailed in Chapter 3 Particular Procurement Regimes Section 7. The contracting authority is not voluntarily following any other part of the Regulations.

Following publication of this notice on 16.04.21, there will be a 10-day standstill period, concluding on 26.04.21. Following satisfactory conclusion of the standstill period, the CCG will enter into a contract with Southport & Formby Health Ltd for 3 years with the option to extend by 1 year, commencing on 1st July 2021.
