Health Education England aims to commission Universities to create an innovative, accessible, blended-learning postgraduate Anaesthesia Associate (AA) programme that will be available across England for prospective AA students. The programme aims to fully exploit innovation in digital and other technologies to provide a fully blended, interactive, flexible, and engaging programme that will meet the education framework requirements (currently draft) as set by the General Medical Council. This is an exciting opportunity to support the creation of a significantly different offer in Anaesthesia Associate education that will support the growth of a qualitatively different expert and professional workforce suited to the demands of 21st Century care and service. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention.
We will be holding a market engagement event on the morning of Monday 17 January 2022 from 11am - 1pm to discuss our plans and consult with parties interested in potentially bidding to become a blended learning provider. The event will take the form of an on-line presentation organised through MS Teams outlining our current thinking, the procurement process we anticipate following, general discussion, and requests for information. The process will also provide an opportunity to network with others providing education and training in this field. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers which may influence and inform the development of the final tender.
Please RSVP by 5pm Thursday 13 January 2022 with a name, title, organisation, and email address for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) to the email address below. Please save the date and await the joining link which will be shared within 48 hours of the event taking place.

It is the intention of the Authority that the procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The ITT is expected to be published March 2022. A separate advert will be released advising of this.
