The National Cyber Incident Response (CIR) Retainer, managed by NSS’s Cyber Centre of Excellence (CCoE), is designed to help contain cyber threats and protect critical national systems during a cyber incident. The service provides expert support in the event of an attack—whether it affects a single NHS Board, multiple Boards, or shared digital systems. Given the interconnected nature of NHS Scotland services, it is essential to prevent threats from spreading across systems.
