The purpose of the Bassetlaw Ophthalmology Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS) is to improve access and patient experience of common ophthalmic conditions, promote awareness and understanding to improve self-care and treatment for patients with long term ophthalmic conditions and improve the health and well-being of Bassetlaw residents.
The Ophthalmology CATS will possess clinical autonomy and a reputation for the delivery of a high quality and clinically safe service.
The service will operate as two parts:

Management of patients defined as "stable" will reflect the national guidance set out with the NICE guidance and SYB CfO policy.
The Bassetlaw Ophthalmology CATS will: Provide a "One Stop Shop" service for patients with common (non-urgent / sight threatening) ophthalmic conditions.
