Description

Commissioners within NHS Brighton and Hove CCG are considering commissioning a Community Vasectomy Service under a single provider contract. The current service currently provides for circa 230 procedures per annum. The proposed service would be commissioned to provide GPs with a community vasectomy service in Brighton and Hove. This service will offer patients and partners with advice, counselling and support prior to the procedure. It is proposed that this service is commissioned to include extended hours and weekend clinics. This service will deliver a safe, high quality service provided in a community setting with a choice of date and time of appointments, excellent outcomes and an improved patient experience.

It is anticipated that the service would be offered for tender under a standard NHS contract for a period of 3 years commencing on the 1st October 2017 with option to extend for a maximum of a further two years. The purpose of this RFI is to gauge market interest and feedback via the RFI response form for the provision of Vasectomy Services and provide the CCG with valuable information to help update and improve the current service specification.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of the requirements, please call Katie Chipping on 01273 238730 (9.00 - 5.00: Monday to Thursday), or send an email to [email protected] suggesting a date/time for a telephone conversation

Please return the questionnaire as fully as you can to:

Katie Chipping [email protected]

Please return the form by 4pm Friday 10th March 2017

Additional information: Key Aims and Objectives  To provide high quality local community vasectomy services within the CCG, for patients aged 18 and over, resident, or registered with a GP, in the CCG area  To provide services that comply with accepted best practice, relevant guidelines in clinical practice and robust governance arrangements.  To provide a complete holistic patient focused care package; including pre and post-operative care, information, advice and counselling  To ensure consistent and continuous care between health professionals, and effective and efficient communication.  To improve access and convenience for patients

This is a process designed to help the Commissioners form a view of the best way to commission the service and is not the beginning of a tender exercise. A further tender advertisement will be issued at the appropriate time as/if required. You will not be disadvantaged in any subsequent tender process if you choose not to respond to this RFI but the Commissioners will use the level of response received as part of the supporting evidence for any next steps taken. The Commissioners wish to understand your views at this early stage, so you are encouraged to respond and complete the RFI form as fully as you can.
