Description

In urgent response to the Coronavirus pandemic a need for temporary mortuary facilities has been identified by Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire East and Cheshire Council and East Cheshire Council to handle potential deaths exceeding current mortuary capacity. A suitable site has been identified within the borough of Warrington. The provision of the facility is deemed to be of such urgency that application of the reduced timescales for urgent procurements set in the Public Contract Regulations 2015, especially given current market disruption.

Companies have been approached directly to determine potential provision and a company has been identified with suitable solutions to provide suitable temporary buildings, refrigeration, generators and storage, within the required timescale. Initially the supply shall be for a 20 week period, however there may be a need for the supply to continue beyond this period.
