Description

The BFI requires 4 showcases for use in its Mezzanine Gallery - a public space at the BFI Southbank, Belvedere Road, London. The Gallery hosts rotating displays from the BFI National Archive's Special Collections, supplemented with key incoming loans.

As a highly visible area within the BFI Southbank, the look and design of the cases is of equal importance to their technical specifications, and should fit with the BFI's identity as a contemporary and forward-thinking venue for film and television. We would welcome responses that show elegant design solutions.

The showcases should meet the following baseline specifications:

3x identical table style cases with slab ends Size 1300 H x 700 W x 300 D (height to top of base = 1000m) Clam style hinged glass hood with gas compression system Locks with double locking mechanism Silica gel unit with lockable external access 11.5mm anti-bandit UV glass LED dimmable lighting to 50 LUX

1 x freestanding wall display case Size 1979 H x 1200 W x 400 D (height to top of base = 700mm) Fully supported glass shelves with adjustable heights 11.5mm anti-bandit UV glass Pull and slide front access, with 2 locks with double locking mechanism LED dimmable lighting Lockable silica gel unit with external access LED dimmable lighting to 50 LUX, and direction adjustable

The BFI requires delivery and full installation of these units to BFI Southbank, London, SE1 8XT by mid October 2019"
