Description

SPACE Phase 2 will be a single contract, co-funded by the German Development Cooperation (GDC) and the FCDO Gender Responsive Social Protection Programme (GSP), and potentially other actors. Contributions from GDC and GSP will be in the form of paid for experts who will join the SPACE structure and services, under the management of the team leader, while other options for contributions are also being explored.

The objective is to support FCDO and GDC country offices, national governments and partners in planning and delivering their responses to and recovery from the economic effects of COVID-19, as well as better preparing for future shocks. SPACE will do this through the provision of bespoke advice and support on social protection, safety nets and humanitarian assistance nexus, using up to date evidence, learning and global experience. Expert advice will support: - Preparation, planning, design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of COVID-19 responses and recovery measures; - Preparing for future shocks (including shocks that are additional to COVID-19).

The recipient of the services will be:

i. FCDO country offices ii. GDC country offices iii. Governments that request the service iv. Partner organisations (when they can demonstrate that their request directly benefits a government or the wider social protection and humanitarian sectors in a country) v.
