The assignment will cover marketing and representation services for Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) brand in China. RMG encompasses the National Maritime Museum (NMM), the Royal Observatory (ROG), Cutty Sark (CS), and the Queen's House (QH). These four world-class attractions are at the heart of maritime Greenwich in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Attracting over 2.5 million visitors each year, RMG is one of the UK's top 10 visitor attractions.
BACKGROUND
China is a key market for Royal Museums Greenwich. The Royal Observatory is the key attraction driving the Chinese market to Greenwich. Chinese visits in 2017-18 to the Royal Observatory equaled 7% which was the same as for our German visits. We continue to see a growth of Chinese visitors to RMG. As the number of inbound visits from China to the UK is set to increase, RMG wants to be at the forefront of targeting this market to ensure our brand is known but also that RMG is regarded as a must see attraction when visiting the UK.
OBJECTIVES
1.To maximize the opportunity from the growth in Chinese visitors to Britain. 2.To continue to look at RMG's key selling points and developing them for each market segment within China i.e. leisure, corporate or student travel. 3.To drive visitor numbers across RMG attractions especially to Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum and the Queen's House. 4.To build a marketing plan around the key messages of RMG. 5.To build relationships with key tour operators in the market.. 6.To attend key industry events in market representing RMG. 7.To seize any opportunities that will enhance the RMG awareness in China.
