Description
Provision of Psychology Service support for Bariatric Service . Offers are invited to provide the above service commencing in October 2018, based at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester which is part of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The bariatric service at St Richard's Hospital receives approximately 500 referrals per year. The multidisciplinary bariatric team comprises Consultant Surgeons, Consultant Physicians, Consultant Anaesthetists, Dietitians, Psychotherapists, Specialist Nurses and Administrative Staff.
We require a service that can work flexibly in the outpatient setting, within the context of the multidisciplinary bariatric team. As part of the assessment for bariatric surgery, patients are required to undergo psychological screening, in order to ensure that there are no psychological barriers to surgery. Use of a validated screening tool would be encouraged. A commitment to active research and audit is also encouraged.
