Description
The ESFA wish to develop the Listed Gatehouses at the entrance to the new school site off Wellhead Lane, Aston, Birmingham. The gatehouses are listed and in general state of disrepair and must be brought up to a safe standard and fit for occupancy by the schools 6th Form students. The scheme is subject to planning conditions applied by Birmingham City Council so all works will need to comply with those conditions. The contracted works will include the undertaking of surveys to inform design and scope of works to be undertaken, enabling works to make the building safe to enable the surveys to be undertaken and then to define a scope of works within the clients cost plan to construct the new school accommodation. Some existing survey information and reports will be made available as part of the Invitation to Tender.
Additional information: The tender process will be a two stage process, at Stage 1 contractors will be asked to submit fixed prices for the surveys, enabling works and management costs, the contractor will be selected and then deliver a Stage 2 design and cost plan prior to entering an ESFA amended JCT IFC with CD contract. It is expected that works will be completed at the earliest opportunity and consideration will need to be given to site logistics and impact on the operational school
