Description

The former RAF and fire training facility at Manston has been utilised by the Home Office for the past 12 months and requires redevelopment to suit its current needs. The Home Office have identified a need to reconfigure the current layout of the accommodation and facilities and further redevelop the existing Manston site.

The proposed new development will provide improved accommodation and facilities that will support a more effective operation and replace the current temporary facilities. Demolition forms part of the enabling works to achieve this.

The overall scope of works is as outlined below (list not exhaustive):

- Development of a demolition plan - Undertaking statutory notifications for asbestos removal - Asbestos Removal - Demolition of the H-Block and Blues and Twos buildings (Building's 004, 131, 010, 045 & 044A) - Demolition of associated footings, foundations and redundant services - Incorporation of sequenced demolition and crushing of the superstructures of buildings on the site - Coordinated below grade level removal - Coordinating with the UXO nominated consultant and utilities designer.
