Description
Targeted short break activities provide opportunities for children and young people with SEND to engage in fun, safe and supportive activities independently. They allow children and young people to have independence and social opportunities away from their families whilst giving parents/carers a break from their caring roles and responsibilities. Targeted short break activities can also provide opportunities for the whole family to enjoy activities together. Since April 2025 Stoke-on-Trent City Council has commissioned Targeted Short Break Activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) via a framework. This is the reopening of the framework to allow new providers to join. This service is managed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council who, through a series of call-off agreements, will engage, collaborate and work with organisations to deliver a broad range of short break activities meeting the needs of our families and their children/ young people. The Council is inviting applicants to tender to join the framework for the following lots: • Lot 1: Activities for children and young people to attend independently • Lot 2: Activities for children and young people to attend with their families Providers may apply for one or more lots depending on the scale and flexibility of their offer. Providers need not be based in Stoke-on-Trent, but the activities shall be offered within a ten-mile radius of the Stoke-on-Trent area.
