Description
Provision of analytical and research services to support the Food Standards Agency's biomonitoring programme for exposure to food additives. The contract involves the analysis and interpretation of biomarkers of non-sugar sweeteners in approximately 1,000 historic 24-hour urine samples from the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) Bioresource. Services include laboratory analysis of specified sweetener biomarkers and urinary creatinine, estimation of dietary exposure based on analytical results, statistical analysis of findings, and production of a final technical report. The work represents an extension of previous biomonitoring research undertaken using NDNS samples and will generate evidence to inform future assessment of consumer exposure to food additives.
