Description
Provision of an Academic Support service for students with disabilities and other diverse backgrounds at Maynooth University. The Academic Support service will provide specialist learning support for target equity groups and provide a combination of group and 1-1 support informed by Psychology Led learning support frameworks. The successful provider will support the delivery of Academic Needs assessments for students with disabilities and provide specialist support to neurodivergent students and students with mental health conditions. The service will be led by appropriately qualified supervisors in Psychology. The service will operate on a 9 am - 5 pm basis, ensuring that there is appropriate in-office cover for the full year. i.e. at least one staff member must always be present during office hours. The service will be staffed by 2 or 3 Assistant Psychologists who are supervised by a senior Psychologist. Due to the cyclical nature of the service requirements MU will not require full services for the 12 Months of the year with a potentially lesser requirement in the summer months. Further details are contained in the Cost of Service section. As part of the delivery of the Academic Support Service, the service provider will ensure compliance with Maynooth University policies and escalate any concerns to the Student Advisory Manager to allow Maynooth University to make the ultimate decision on appropriate escalation procedures. Where there is conflicting advice regarding escalation Maynooth University procedure and policies will take precedence over any internal or organizational policy of the Academic support service
